When they began to sing and praise, the Lord set an ambush… (2 Chronicles 20:22)
Have you ever thought of an army fighting with guitars and lyrics instead of bullets and missiles? Some might consider it as foolish. But it works when God’s hand is on it!
The Bible records in 2 Chronicles 20 the story of King Jehoshaphat who went to fight against a huge enemy that outnumbered his troops. The Lord had promised him that they would not have to fight since the Lord Himself will fight for them and fetch them victory. So Jehoshaphat appointed singers to be in front of the army! And as they began to sing and praise God, the Lord worked havoc among the enemy ranks and they attacked and killed each other. Thus Jehoshaphat’s people obtained a supernatural victory and also a large booty.
When God is on your side, no matter what circumstances surround you, you will have supernatural success. Everything changes when God shows up!
Are you in a difficult situation today where you don’t see a way out? On the cross, Christ has already opened a supernatural way for you to experience God’s abundant goodness (Ephesians 1:3). As you praise God standing on that truth, it will start manifesting in your life.
It may not work according to your time table, but it will surely happen. Doors of opportunity will start to open before you. Negatives will begin to become positives. How does it happen? When you start praising God believing what Christ has done for you.
Choose to be a praiser than a doubter. As a disciple, Jesus is with you to help you attain humanly impossible things. Today people may not be standing with you. They may be ridiculing your dreams as irrational and impossible. Some may be mocking your praises and songs. But a day is coming when they will stand dumbfounded seeing your dreams come to pass! It will be a time that proves the power of your praises!
I am always aware of the Lord’s presence; he is near, and nothing can shake me – (Psalm 16:8)
A person who recognizes God’s presence in his life is truly blessed. It doesn’t matter what he faces or goes through, He knows that God is with him!
One of the famous Old Testament personalities, Joseph, is a good example (Genesis 37 – 47). From a very young age, he started having encounters with God in the form of dreams. Though some in his own family did not like this ‘dream thing’, Joseph recognized God’s abiding presence in his life.
He went through some real bad situations from his family as well as foreigners. He experienced trials and triumphs. Whether in the pit, prison, Potiphar’s place or palace, all along, Joseph was aware that God was with him.
Recognizing God’s abiding presence in your life has great benefits. It will help you live with an attitude of confidence regardless of what you face daily. It will also motivate you to live clean and be all that God has called you to be.
Are you shaken because of something you are facing right now? One of the best solutions is to run to God and pour out your heart to Him. Spend some time in His Word (Bible). As you do, you will sense God’s presence around you! And that will break shakiness and produce confidence.
Positive thinking and motivating talks alone have only limited value. But when you spend quality time with the heavenly Father, you become aware of His presence and love surrounding you. Then you will be flooding with positive thoughts! Then you will be motivated to accomplish remarkable things!
Jesus has promised us that He will be with us day in and day out (Matthew 28:20). Still, it is when you spend time with Him in prayer and Word that you become aware of His Presence. And that releases pure confidence to face the future!
So believe in the immense power of God’s presence in our day-today life.
